Thymus therapy is a naturopathic procedure that is described in connection with the immune system. The thymic peptides found in the thymus gland can be obtained from the thymus of young calves and administered to the body by injection. The scope of the injection treatment depends on the individual severity of a patient's illness and on the condition of the immune system.
The thymus gland is the control center of the immune system and a neuro-hormonal regulatory organ. It is also where T lymphocytes are shaped and trained: what is tolerated in the body and what is to be attacked or destroyed. With increasing age, the thymus gland shrinks, and the production of thymic factors decreases, as does the number of immune cells.
