What is colon hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy is a naturopathic procedure in which the large intestine is flushed with temperature-controlled water using a special device. The application takes place under hygienic conditions and is supervised for its entire duration.
During the session, the patient lies comfortably and can experience the treatment in a calm atmosphere. The application can be accompanied by manual impulses in the abdominal area and by controlling the water inflow and outflow.
A session usually lasts up to about one hour. How the treatment is perceived varies from person to person.
The following information is general and non-binding. It does not replace individual medical advice. Nor can it replace treatment by a physician, psychotherapist, or physiotherapist. We consider the services of physicians, psychotherapists, and physiotherapists to be very important. Therefore, ongoing treatment should not be interrupted or discontinued, and treatment that becomes necessary in the future should not be postponed. No promises are made that healing or success will occur.
Why colon hydrotherapy?
In naturopathy, the bowel is attributed special importance within holistic approaches. It is understood as part of complex bodily processes that concern digestion, diet, and lifestyle, among other things.
In connection with the bowel, the so-called gut microbiome is also frequently discussed. It comprises a large number of microorganisms whose composition is discussed in scientific and naturopathic contexts. Such connections are assessed individually and without general statements about effects or benefits.
In this context, colon hydrotherapy is regarded as a method used within naturopathic concepts. It does not replace medical diagnosis or therapy.
