Therapy for the Body's Balance

Osteopathy is a therapy based on a holistic view of the human body, understanding it as a unit. In osteopathy, the body is considered as a whole; treatment does not only start where complaints are felt.

Rebalancing the System

Osteopathy is based on a balance between different physical structures of the body.
It works mainly with the bones, muscles and soft tissues that support the respective organs. According to the osteopathic understanding, tension or a blockage in this structure is reflected in a malfunction of the organs and the other physiological systems on which health and well-being depend.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

Osteopathic treatment works with the whole body. Manual techniques are applied to muscles, joints and soft tissues. An osteopathic treatment can include:

  • Soft tissue massage

  • Joint mobilization

  • Stretching

  • Muscle energy techniques

This approach looks at the body holistically. Each treatment is specifically tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

Topics that bring people to osteopathic treatment include, for example:

  • Neck and back pain

  • Arthritis

  • Sciatica

  • Headaches

  • Dizziness

  • Repetitive strain and overuse injuries

  • Pregnancy-related complaints

  • Tendonitis

  • Sports injuries

Because the body is understood as a unit, osteopathy establishes a connection between the musculoskeletal system and other complaints, such as: irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, gastritis, cystitis, incontinence, menopausal complaints, asthma, cough, bronchitis, trigeminal neuralgia, tension migraine. Such complaints should be clarified by a physician.
