Massage:

Local contraindications for massage are fresh injuries of the musculoskeletal system, fresh muscle tears, bone injuries, fractures up to the 6th week, fresh scars, acute thrombosis, thrombophlebitis, inflammatory skin diseases (e.g. eczema), varicose veins

Systemic contraindications are severe osteoporosis, anticoagulation, all febrile illnesses, infectious diseases and high-risk pregnancies.

Cupping:

In the case of skin injuries (e.g. from sunburn, burns, abrasions or similar) as well as tumors, the cups should not be placed on the affected area of skin. With wet cupping, it is also important to make sure that the person being treated does not have a blood clotting disorder or anemia. Cupping is also not advisable in cases of dehydration, a tendency to faint, cardiac arrhythmias or coronary insufficiency.

If you are unsure, please talk to us – we will be happy to advise you!

I am in pain – can I still be treated?

If muscle tension is the issue, massage is an obvious application; it involves working specifically with the tense muscles.

Pain due to chronic illnesses or accidents should be discussed beforehand either with your treating physician or with the therapist.
